If you have a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation rules and if you will take the necessary time to carefully research the spelling of names and technical terms, I’d like to hear from you.
I don’t specify a certain typing speed, but you ought to type at least at 60 wpm or it may not be worth your time to pursue a transcription position. You’ll need Express Scribe, foot pedals, and high quality, over-the-ear headphones to do your best.
Once hired, I proofread all transcripts and give detailed feedback on anything that needs correction. In this way, I should see your skills quickly increase and your transcripts become more accurate.
Please send me an email (gbdyal@aol.com) with your resume as an attachment. You should also attach a two-page sample of your work. Be sure to type “Transcriber application” in the subject line of your email. If I believe that we may be able to work together, I’ll send you test materials (guidelines that you must read and two three-minute transcription tasks).
Thank you for your interest.
